Event in Canada
On February 28, 2026, join us at the One Yonge Community Recreation Centre for a free training on how to edit Wikipedia and Wikimedia projects with a focus on the cultures and cuisines of Canada’s Caribbean diaspora.
The day will be hosted by WikiClub Toronto and have a special focus on people of the Caribbean Diaspora in Canada and the food that brings everyone together.
Wikithon #VoixFranco 2026
Event in Canada
The #VoixFranco Wikithon will return in 2026 to promote the voices of Francophone culture—performing artists and writers, communications and French language specialists, and key works of Francophone identity—on Wikipedia and Wikidata. More info coming soon.

WikiClub Canada is an online club open to everyone based in Canada and interested in Wikimedia projects. Every meeting will start with a short icebreaker, and then the rest of the meetup will be open discussion for participants to share about what they’re working on, ask questions, discuss wiki-related topics, and more.
The club meets online every second Wednesday of the month.

The #1Lib1Ref campaign is now in its 9th year! Wikimedia Canada invites you to participate in the Canadian #1Lib1Ref competition running from January 15th to February 5th, 2026. The goal of the #1Lib1Ref campaign is to encourage information professionals, like librarians, to contribute at least one reference to an article on Wikipedia to help improve Wikipedia’s reliability and verifiability.

WikiConference North America 2025 will take place in New York City, USA, on October 16–19, 2025. (Pre- or post-conference events may be scheduled for adjacent dates.) This year’s theme is “Wiki World’s Fair” to celebrate the city’s 400th anniversary.

The WikiConvention francophone (WCFR) is an annual international event that brings together French-speaking contributors to the various Wikimedia projects. In 2025, the 9th edition of the Francophone WikiConvention will take place in Cotonou, Benin.

Wiki Loves Earth is an international photo contest of natural protected areas. All it takes to participate is to find a protected area nearby, photograph it, and submit a photo of it for the competition.
