Micro Grants
Wikimedia Canada offers micro grants up to $1,000 CAD to support local projects that contribute to the mission of the Wikimedia movement in Canada. These micro grants are intended to support a variety of community initiatives, such as contribution events, WikiClub meetings, publication of free data, and more.

Applicant requesting a micro grant
- Can be an individual, a group of individuals, or a non-profit organization
- Must be currently active on any Wikimedia project
- Must be either based in Canada or be Canadian
- Must not be blocked or banned on any Wikimedia spaces
- Have a demonstrated history of complying with the Universal Code of Conduct, Friendly space policy, or Event Ban policy
- Must not have another micro grant application in progress. Once a previous micro grant application has been either closed and reported or denied, another can be submitted.
Wikimedia Canada (WMCA) considers the following criteria for proposals:
- Strategic priority: Does your activity align with one or more of the six programs outlined in our strategic plan ?
- Impact of the activity: What outcomes are anticipated as a result of your activity? How do you plan to measure these outcomes?
