The WikiClub Perspectives Visuelles, a cohort of Franco-Canadian visual artists, was launched to support the discoverability of these artists and has reached a strategic milestone with the creation of its dedicated Wiki page. This page is intended to document the entire project—its mission, activities, partners, and impacts—in order to ensure a lasting presence within the Wiki digital ecosystem.
During its development phase, the project identified an essential need: the creation of a resource page on Wikipedia. To achieve this, a grant request of $1,000 was submitted to secure the support of an expert who could assist and guide the project coordination team. This support helped maximize the quality, credibility, and sustainability of the project while also strengthening the skills of the coordination team.
Since its launch, the WikiClub Perspectives Visuelles project has aimed to equip visual artists from Canada’s Francophone communities with the tools needed to achieve stronger online representation. Through workshops, individual support, and collaborative sessions, the project has enabled dozens of artists to develop essential skills in open knowledge contribution.
The project’s Wiki page represents a cornerstone of this initiative. It traces the history of the WikiClub and highlights its educational and digital objectives, notably the creation of a Wiki guide specifically dedicated to the visual arts.
The page also showcases participating artists, documents all project achievements, and ensures lasting visibility for cultural partners. This centralization of information contributes to generating meaningful and sustainable outcomes for the project’s entire ecosystem.
This Wiki page is intended to become an accessible reference for understanding the project, a visibility tool for artists and partners, a means of recognition, and a sustainable documentary foundation for future cohorts.
Over time, it will also help consolidate the WikiClub’s impact by making visible its innovation, collaborative model, and influence on Francophone artistic communities.
