Programs

Wikimedia Canada wants to focus its actions on the needs of Canadian volunteers while ensuring the inclusion of people and knowledge that are currently underrepresented in the Wikimedia projects. To do this, Wikimedia Canada has chosen to organize its activities into six programs.

Research and development

Contribute to the advancement of the Wikimedia Movement and free knowledge by allocating resources to experimentation

Collective for free knowledge

Foster the ecosystem to encourage and facilitate the contribution to the Wikimedia projects

Diversity of knowledge and high-impact topics

Increase the representation of minority or under-represented groups and subjects within the Wikimedia projects, and the quality of the content of topics identified as having a high impact

Francophonie

Support the production of free knowledge on Wikimedia projects in French

Indigenous cultures, knowledge, and languages

Support free knowledge projects from or about Indigenous communities in Canada

Support to Wikiclubs and volunteers

Support volunteers and WikiClubs in Canada by providing them with the help and tools they need to easily contribute to Wikimedia projects
